CHEVRE is an innovative cashmere boucle/velour, created for us by one of Italy's finest spinners. We dye it by hand here in the US, working in stages to bring out the full magic of the fiber.
You will find CHEVRE easy to knit or crochet, luxurious to wear. This is a perfect yarn for that favorite sweater. As always, our staff is available to help create the perfect pattern for you, a free service when you buy the yarn from us.
Cashmere is hair from a specific breed of goat -- chevre is the French word for goat. In rural France chevre cheese is often served warm atop a fresh salad, with a dollop of honey. All of the sensations from such a meal -- sweetness, buttery softness, and striking freshness -- are present in this remarkable yarn.
So make CHEVRE the main course of a Yarntasting feast, at the very least. We ship samples in any amount. Don't be late to the table!
